Nestled in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, directly across from the tranquil Murray Rose Pool and its harbourside beach, this apartment is surrounded by lush greenery and serene tree-lined vistas. Inspired by its peaceful setting, the design artfully harmonizes with the building's architecture while preserving the charm of its original interior features.
The project focused on enhancing the front entry, fireplace, study, and bedrooms to cater to the needs of a growing young family, with abundant storage solutions as a priority. While retaining the existing floor plan, the design introduces a fresh, sophisticated, and timeless aesthetic. Key features include bespoke custom joinery paired with contemporary, aged brass hardware and fixtures, seamlessly blending modern and classic elements.
Soft Roman blinds were installed throughout the home to create a warm and inviting ambiance, while luxe linen curtains in the master bedroom and plush carpeting provide added comfort. The bedrooms are further elevated by the elegance of period ceiling roses, bringing a subtle yet dramatic flair to the space.
A striking, non-functional fireplace clad in tactile square-format tiles with contrasting grout serves as a focal point in the living area, offering flexibility for interchangeable furnishings. Carefully curated lighting adds a delicate softness and luminosity, complemented by mixed metal finishes for a touch of individuality.
The result is a home that strikes the perfect balance between functionality and elegance, designed to meet present demands while anticipating future aspirations. Each design detail reflects a commitment to both aesthetic appeal and practicality, ensuring the apartment remains a versatile sanctuary for years to come.
